Understanding how to read/ write a mesh spec using the example B-72-75-14-16.
The LETTER represents the type of belt. In this case, “B” stands for Balanced Weave
The FIRST NUMBER in the spec represents the number of spiral loops across 12″ of width. In this case, there are 72 spiral loops across 12″ of width.
The SECOND NUMBER in the spec is the number of cross rods in a foot of length. In this example, there are 75 cross rods in a foot of length.
The THIRD NUMBER, 14, indicates the gauge/wire diameter of the cross rods. 14=0.080″
The FOURTH NUMBER, 16, indicates the gauge/wire diameter of the spirals. 16=0.062″
When there are ONLY three numbers in the spec, the third number indicates that the gauge/wire diameter of both the cross rods and the spirals is the same.
